Skip received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University in 1966; received his MBA from State in 1967. He worked 1 year for the college of business and industry and then the following year became head of personnel for the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service and remained in this position for 25 years until he "retired". Actually, he moved into the position of acting head of the Department of Human Resources for the University after his "retirement" and was still there at the time of his death. Skip was very active in our community and our churchl. He taught a men's Sunday School class (for too many years to count) and to this day, it is still referred to as "Skip's" class. He remained the same type of individual in his adult life as he was in high school -- being very caring and concerned for others. I still have people contact me about things that he did for them at critical times in their lives. I can truly say that anyone who knew him was blessed by his friendship. If he could make a statement about his life, I think that 2 Tim. 4:7 would fit very well: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". I was privileged to be his wife.
