Saturday brings great surprises, tears of remembrance and just plain ole fun.

Saturday morning from 9-10:30 am at the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center on Linden St. across from the old West Corinth Elementary School, we will hold an awesome and very touching Memorial Service for our classmates who are no longer with us in body but not forgotten.  We have a 'Piper" who will play Amazing Grace on the Bag pipes.

In addition, we will honor our classmates who have served our country and especially the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice so we might enjoy our freedoms and the opportunity to celebrate with friends 50 years of memories.  We are planning for a bugler to play taps.

This touching ceremony will be held at the awesome Interpretive Center that is a national monument to the Civil War.

Following the memorial from 11:30 until 2 pm , we will move on to an exceptional lunch from the past with a host, Bill Reed Jones, who is a local icon of Corinth High School sports. Fun and laughs will be had by all. We will be at the old CHS Cafeteria.  We're planning a class photo at 1 pm on the steps of the old high school.

Saturday night from 6:30-10:30 pm is nothing but more fun to top off a great weekend. A special singer from our past, guests we love, music of our times, food to enjoy, it's just too hard to put in words what your classmates have planned it is so awesome.   Join us at the TURN Banquet Room at Shiloh Ridge Golf Course.

Everybody will go away with awesome memorabilia, pictures and renewed friendships of classmates that were and now will be forever great friends.

To do all we have planned takes a huge effort and money. We have decided that the cost per person will be $35. However this will not cover the total cost. We told you earlier that Lee Mincy was the hero of the 2nd mini.

In discussing the cost for the 50th we were kinda at a stalemate. We wanted everything presented above but were worried about the cost. We were and are sensitive to finances. With that thought, Lee proposed that we set a cap on the per person cost and then ask for donations to offset the total cost.

His exact words were, "Please let me say that I want a Cadillac for my 50th. It is a once in a lifetime milestone and I want a great event". With that said he stepped up and made a pledge that made us all grateful for his presence.

We need about $4,000 extra to meet all expenses and not cut one event or experience from our 50th. Several of us have already pledged monies to help cover this amount. We are determined to make this happen. This will allow all classmates to participate at a fair and reasonable cost.

We know there are those of you out there that will step up with us and make the 50th happen. We will be setting up payment options this week. We have a bank account. Now we need all of you to register and pay as soon as you can. Those that have the where with all to make a contribution toward the extra needed please let Milton, Dianne or John know.

We are in the 7th inning of our lives. Some of us may be pulled from the game before 9 innings are played. Some may have the opportunity to play extra innings. We just don't know what the Good Lord has in store for each of us. However, there is one thing we do know. We were and still are one of the best classes at CHS ever.

The Citizens of Corinth are buzzing about our planning and eventual 50th reunion. We have made a splash already. Now it is time to put it to bed and we need all of you to be involved. This is a once in a lifetime event. Make it happen!
